Sea Creature Haikus

This week Mrs Smith taught us how to write Haikus. "Haiku" is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.

Visual Art

During Term One Mrs Smith has been teaching us about the artist Henris Matisse. We hope you enjoy the pictures of our sea scenes.

Well done to Liam C, Isabella L, Jessica, Michael, Maggie, Chantelle, Tahnee, Miss Rodger and their friends and families for completing the Shore to Shore Fun Run for 2012.

School Picnic

We had so much fun at the Annual Sunnybrae Picnic.

Swimsation

We have really been enjoying our Swimsation lessons with our instructors. Watch this group who have been learning to breathe properly while swimming.

Sunnybrae Triathlon

We have been learning to use our senses to write about the triathlon.
We can see...
the water in the swimming pool wobbling like jelly.
kids fanning themselves like windmills.
bikes glimmering in the sun.
people puffing like steam engines.

Year 3/4 Swimming Carnival

Wow! What a lot of fun we had at the Year 3 and 4 Swimming Carnival. Read different parts of our recounts below.

As we walked down to the pool I was feeling nervous because lots of people were crowding around us waiting for the carnival to start.
By Maggie

I sat in my chair shivering through all of the length races. Finally it was the width races.

Bang! the relay clappers went off. Liam K went first, he touched Bea, Bea touched Tahnee then Tahnee touched Arlen. This was it, Arlen and Bailey were facing off.
By Esuru

Bang! went the clappers. I felt as if there were a party in my stomach and it was singing, "Go Arlen, go Arlen," over and over again.
