Quickwrites

Three times a week we write as quickly as we can for three minutes. Here are some of our quickwrites.

My weekend was wonderful because I went to Chipmunks with Ernie, Zane and Briana. I slid down on the big slide because it's bumpy. On the way down I shouted Wheeee! I use the ball gun to shoot some colourful balls. I ate a chocolate chip cookie and I drank some water. After Chipmunks we had Wendy's for dinner. By Danika

Winter is cool because I get to go to lots of places. At night I get to snuggle up in my warm bed. The thing I don't like about winter is that it rains a lot. Also you have to stay inside a lot. By Callum

My weekend was really amazing because we got to put up a tent in my backyard to see how big it was and how good it was. We put it up because we are getting ready to go camping in the Christmas holidays with our family. When we opened the tent we were so happy and surprised because we got to go in the tent and we got it up, it was huge! By Stephanie

Winter is fun because I like to snuggle up in bed where it is warm and cosy. I don't like it because I can't go outside. By Blake

Natural Disasters

We have been learning to describe natural disasters. We had to complete the following sentence starters.

Natural disasters can occur... any place, like cities, towns and different countries. They can happen at any time like the morning, afternoon and night. (Mahad)

Examples of natural disasters are... some fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions and landslides. (Jessica)

Natural disasters can cause... other natural disasters like earthquakes can cause a tsunami. (Andy)

People may find themselves without... food, clothes, water and a house to live in. (Naduni)

People can help themselves by... making a safety kit, drop, cover, hold in an earthquake, listen to the radio and go to higher ground in a tsunami. (Kevin)

People should also...help other people that are hurt or injured and make a family safety kit to be prepared. (Watalu)
